New painting added to the collection

A new painting has been added to the collection of available Art Delivered paintings. This one was inspired by a detail from a photo of a building in the Byward Market. It is called "Weathered" in honor of the timeless buildings in the market area. It is a mixed media painting.

Would Art Delivered make a good Corporate Gift?

Employees and valued customers no longer appreciate being branded like cattle with company logos on T-Shirts, Hats, Jackets, and even ill-fitting Socks.

Corporate marketing has changed radically in recent years. But one thing has not changed; it has always been a well known fact that "Word-of-mouth" advertising is one of the best methods of gaining trust and good standing with customers and staff. This has; and continues to be; proven with the multitude of Social Networking media opportunities that have become available to the public and to companies. The value to companies of happy staff and happy customers cannot and SHOULD not be ignored.

Yet, "Word-of-mouth" advertising can be lost in that plethora of social media. If your message is buried it will never be “heard". With Art Delivered this can change. Instead of branding employees and customers with logo-ed t-shirts which never fit and often become auto-repair-wear, companies will give a gift that is not only "one-of-a-kind" but is repeated 4 times in a year, reminding that individual of their value to the corporation. With a discreet gift of art through Art Delivered, recipients get delivery by mail of one small original work of art every three months. Chances are that these paintings will be hung on a wall and become a "Conversation Piece". People will find out about your company via word-of-mouth advertising. In addition it emphasizes that ABC inc. truly values that employee or customer as also being a one-of-a-kind contributor.

Art Delivered will, upon request, include a company message in each package delivered to remind the recipient who has sent the artwork and why. Art Delivered can also customize an art subscription, should the corporation prefer more frequent deliveries. And as usual each package of artwork will be a painting from a completely different artist every time, increasing your company's message of its uniqueness.

T-shirts fade, wear out and never fit right; art never fades, never wears out and always fits. It gives a good impression at all times and unlike some “logo-branded” people, art never misbehaves in public.

To order a corporate gift of art by subscription, fill in the form on the web site. Each form will accommodate 3 gift subscription registrations. You may use more than one form to register additional subscriptions. Companies may pay via paypal or certified cheque. And if customization is needed, just ask!

Why paint smaller than "usual" paintings for sale?

Smaller paintings for sale are more affordable but for the Art Delivered artists it's more than just the size and the sale that are important.

The idea to paint small format works of art for a painting subscription service was the brainchild of Catherine Gutsche an Ottawa mixed media artist. She loved trying out new mixed media art techniques, fresh colour palettes and unusual media on non-threateningly sized canvases. Not all samples work out the first time but that is part of the challenge of any painting. When its not working you stare at it and make plans to "fix" it. That fix can be giving your painting a wash of white gesso so that the project can begin again or it can be a tweak of added colour here and there with a wee bit of collage added to finish it off.

It was these 6"x6" gallery canvases that inspired Catherine to call upon other fellow artists in her area to join her in a new endeavour to get these small paintings in the hands of art collectors. Art by subscription is not a brand new concept; John James Audubon, renowned ornithologist and illustrator offered his paintings for sale by subscriptions which helped him gain enough funds to print his famous books. And individual contemporary artists often sell limited edition prints of their work. But Catherine had no intention to offer copies, prints or limited edition reproductions. It had to be original paintings for sale.

By calling on fellow artists with art for sale, Catherine would be able to offer the public a wider variety of styles with the intention that subscribers would not know who's artwork they would receive in the mail. "After all" says Catherine, "you don't order polar bear articles only from National Geographic. You trust their writers to serve up great articles on a wide variety of topics. It’s always a surprise."

Catherine's intention is to get subscribers excited about what they might receive in their next art delivery. "Become a kid again at Christmas and enjoy the surprise."

The artists offering paintings for sale at Art Delivered also realize that taste remains a large factor in the selection of art for anyone's home. To satisfy this concept, the Curator at Art Delivered sends each new subscriber a link to an online survey where they can give the Curator a hint of what style of paintings they prefer. "It doesn't make sense to send Mr. Art Collector a floral painting if he's completely in love with mixed media. "This way the Curator can match up every subscriber with artists who paint in their preferred style.

We offer a wide variety of painting techniques and styles such as, mixed media art, watercolour painting, fiber art, modern abstract, representational landscape, contemporary, traditional, etc.

Catherine comments that "a couple of subscribers have even refused to give a style hint because they want to be totally surprised with their package every three months."

Subscription "issues" arrive every three months and at the end of a one year subscription the collector has a sweet collection of 4 small paintings. They can be hung together or spread out and hung in all those little nooks & crannies that have been endlessly difficult to decorate. Renew a subscription and continue collecting for yourself or to have on hand as gifts.

Imagine 4 original paintings from 4 different artists, delivered directly to you for only $50/quarter. Each subscriber gets a fresh delivery of artwork once every 3 months.

To have a look at some of the art for sale that could potentially arrive in your mailbox with your quarterly art subscription you can take a peek at a few samples in the gallery section of the Art Delivered website. Remember that some of these paintings may have already been sent to subscribers, these are just samples of the variety of paintings for sale that Art Delivered offers.

THAT is exactly why your paintings are selected by the Art Delivered curator. Your curator sends you a set of questions and based on your answers, your paintings are selected for you. Its something like having Christmas four times every year! "Surprise"!

Art Delivered artist creates series

One of our Art Delivered artists took a road trip in the fall of 2011, through Algonquin Park, Ontario; Canada's largest and one of our most beautiful provincal parks. Inspired by her natural surroundings as viewed from the car, she decided to create a small series of 6"x6" paintings for her Art Delivered offerings.

Should you be interested in aquiring the complete series and have them delivered all at once, email the Art Delivered curator and make your special request. cgutsche@xplornet.com You have to admit these would make a stunning Christmas gift for that nature loving traveller in your life.

Ottawa Citizen talks about Art Delivered...

"At Art Delivered, you can buy a one-year subscription for $200, and every three months you receive a uniform-sized work (six inches by six inches) on canvas or board from a one of the artists on Gutsche’s site – a different artist in each shipment." - Peter Simpson - The Big Beat: Ottawa Citizen

Wedding Favours and Wedding Party Gifts

Make your wedding guests into ART COLLECTORS with original one-of-a-kind Art Delivered paintings. Every painting is on a gallery depth or regular profile canvas or cradle board. Picture it; an individual original work of art for each and every guest at your wedding. Like your wedding, each painting is an original, not a print or copy.
In as much as Art Delivered's mandate is to fulfil art subscriptions, we also customize our service for unique ideas. We customize for real estate agent gifts, corporate client gifts, etc. So why not Wedding Favours? Or Wedding Party gifts? Or Clergy thank you gifts?

Suggested customizing...
  • Some couples will prefer to only buy the Art Delivered paintings for their wedding party, parents or grandparents, clergy or special wedding helpers.
  • Some couples use the Art Delivered paintings as table centre pieces. It is suggested to group 3 paintings per table with a 3 rose bud vase in the middle then offer them as a take home to three guests with prize numbers under their dinner plates.
  • Further customization is completely in the hands of the Wedding planner and can be discussed in detail with Art Delivered.
Art Delivered's wedding favours are suitable for smaller more intimate weddings with fewer than 100 guests.

It was tricky getting a common date when all the group could be together for the photo but we did it!!! Everyone is so busy especially since it was the day before the big studio tour in the area. Fortunately our photographer, Mario Cerroni, who was also in the studio tour managed to come out to my home to take the photo. Thanks Mario!!!

What's the difference?

The Art Delivered artists are not the first to offer their art by subscription. So, you ask, what's the big difference? The difference is that this group of artists offer to send you a different artist's painting each time whereas most artist subscriptions are a subscription to only one artist's work. PLUS almost all the time these pieces are reproductions. They are just prints of the art. With Art Delivered it is the ORIGINAL painting that you recieve.

AND what makes Art Delivered REALLY stand out in the crowd is that the subscriber fills in an art style survey; then based on that survey the Curator selects the paintings that the subscriber will recieve. So every package contains a surprise. Each piece is matched to the previous piece in either style, or colour or surface treatment. This way your collection will look great together as a set or equally as wonderful hung individually in nooks & crannies throughout the house.

Funding Campaign

The eight Art Delivered artists need advertising funding in order to take their project national. Art Lovers will become Art Collectors.

With many small and thoughtful contributions these artists will be able to place an ad in a national arts magazine so that all of Canada will know about this unique project to introduce new collectors to new artsits. And every contribution will earn a thank you Perk. Your thoughtfulness will not go unnoticed.

The campaign is now closed. Thank you to all our supporters. To learn more about the Art Delivered subscription to art plans click here.

Bird in a Tree

Bird in a Tree has been delivered to a new home. The recipient was very pleased with the painting she recieved. This little painting began with a basic surface texture with some collage elements added. On top of that layer multiple paint colours were pulled through with a palette knife. To finish off the top layer two photo transfers were applied.

Art Delivered - Who are we?

Art Delivered is an ART SUBSCRIPTION service provided by a group of eight artists. Subscribers get home delivery of one-of-a-kind works of art by artists working in a variety of mediums (acrylic, oils, watercolour, fiber, mixed media). Every three months subscribers receive one 6"x6" gallery depth or regular depth painting on canvas or cradled wood art panels to enjoy and keep, or present as a gift to family, friends or colleagues.

After your first year's subscription you will own 4 works of art by 4 different artists, which can be hung individually or as a collection.

Art by subscription is a very affordable and FUN way for Art Lovers to become Art collectors. You can start your collection with a new subscription or you can build upon your existing art collection through this unique art subscription service. If you know an Art Lover you can convert them quickly into an Art Collector with a gift subscription to Art Delivered.

Your art is selected for you, based on a personal art style survey, by the Art Delivered Curator. The answers you give on your survey will guide the curator in selecting the most appropriate painting to match your taste. With every delivery you will be introduced to a new artist whom you have not "met" yet. Included in your package will be additional biographical information about that artist and their working methods, history, training, etc. along with a web address so that you can view more of their paintings.
